Female students have scored higher in passing and obtaining GPA 5 in Primary Education Completion and Ibtedayee examinations in the 97.59 and 97.96 per cent respective pass rates.
The pass rate has been increased than that of last year’s 95.18 per cent in PEC and 92.94 per cent in Ibtedayee exams, said primary and mass education minister Mostafizur Rahman at a press briefing in the Secretariat.
Earlier on Monday morning, he handed over a summary of the results for the fifth grade completion exams to prime minister Sheikh Hasina at Ganabhaban.
In both the examinations, the number of male examinees was higher while female students outstood in pass rate and GPA 5 statistics.
A total of 3,68,193 PEC examinees have obtained GPA 5 among 26,52,896 students this year, among who some 25,88,904 have passed in all subjects.
In PEC exam, Dhaka division scored the highest position by securing 98.25 per cent pass rate.
Among the 2,74,907 Ibtedayee examinees, some 2,68,557 students have passed the examinations while 12,264 received the GPA 5. The highest pass rate in this result was recorded in Rajshahi division is 98.88 per cent.
The results will be available on the websites of the education boards and the primary education department after the announcements. Phone subscribers can access the results via SMS services as well.
A primary student can type ‘DPE<space>Thana/Upazila code<space>roll number<space>2018’ and send the message to 16222 to get the results in a return SMS.
Ebtedayee students will have to type ‘EBT’ in place of ‘DPE’.
